A natural progression I think.

Cheers,

Gord

PS I'll check out the link you provided. Cob ovens look like a ton of work, or more!, and a fire pot might be more up my alley, since I have good scrap lumber to burn on a regular basis.G. The first cob oven I saw and fell in love with was over at pathtofreedom.com -have you visited this site yet? So much useful knowledge to be had. There really is a "Homegrown Revolution" happening.

I noticed Four Mugs is kinda MIA...everybody jump ship?
Cheers to you as well!
MyshellMyshellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13074044507094689964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2717205423263096777.post-39094426837384511952009-03-25T10:16:00.000-06:002009-03-25T10:16:00.000-06:00Hi Myshell,Thanks for your visit back at It Strike...Hi Myshell,

Thanks for your visit back at It Strikes. Long time no see, as we say in Canada.

I'll add compost to the garden next week; as I raked a lot of sawdust from the workshop into the soil I encountered ice and frozen earth just under the surface in one or two spots. Early days here in the far north.

I have never heard of a cob oven. When you mentioned it I thought "cobs of corn in a solar oven." So, I've spent an hour reading up; I found several good links @ http://www.squidoo.com/earth-oven

Now I know a bit more; lots of work, but they'd last a lifetime. Very interesting. If you ever build one (you have the necessary extra hands!) let me know.

Cheers,

GordG. Harrisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15188849799366728069noreply@blogger.com
